SECONDARY SCHOOLS

Secondary School Rugby in Waikato

Secondary school rugby is a fantastic next step for young players moving up from junior club rugby. It's organised a little differently rather than registering through a club, your child plays for their school, competing against other schools across the Waikato in dedicated secondary school competitions.

How Does It Work?

Once your child is at secondary school, their rugby journey can continue they just need to speak to their school's sports coordinator. All teams are entered into the Waikato's secondary school competition, with grades structured to give every player,  from first-time teenagers to seasoned 1st XV hopefuls, the right level of competition.

The best starting point is to get in touch with your child's school sports coordinator directly. Ask about their rugby programme, which teams they run, and how your child can get involved for the upcoming season.
