Waikato Rugby Union Annual General Meeting postponed indefinitely due to Covid-19.

With the constantly changing Covid-19 situation, the Waikato Rugby Union Annual General Meeting, that was scheduled for the night of Tuesday 31st March has been postponed indefinitely.

With the government lockdown and gatherings limited, the Waikato Rugby Union still passed resolutions electronically that would have featured on the agenda. These resolutions were the following:

  • Election of Independent Board Member - Jim Reardon.

  • Election of Club Board Member - Michael Talbot.

  • Election of Vice President - Allen Grainger.

  • Approval of Life Memberships - Allen Grainger, Graham Bowen, Glynis King and Phil Harris.

All resolutions were passed unanimously as confirmed by Waikato Rugby Union Board Chairperson Colin Groves “I can confirm that all eligible WRU Board Members voted and the resolutions were passed unanimously. I would like to congratulate all the above on their appointments and would like to thank everyone for their support in this process, the WRU Board very much appreciates this.”

The Waikato Rugby Union will now focus on the future; working to ensure all levels of the game remain vital and the Waikato rugby community is supported. The Union will also be looking ahead to next year's Centenary and celebrating this historic milestone.
