Waikato Rugby has added another strike weapon to their back line with the signing of Solomon Alaimalo for the 2019/20 Mitre 10 Cup seasons.

Alaimalo, 23, is an exciting back that can play several positions in the backline that include Wing, Fullback and Centre. He is also a very experienced player, having played a total of 30 combined provincial games for Northland (21) and Tasman (9) scoring a total of 50 points. At Super Rugby level he plays for the Gallagher Chiefs and has played over 25 games scoring 10 tries.

Waikato Head Coach Andrew Strawbridge said, “We are very excited to announce the signing of Solomon for the 2019 and 2020 Mitre 10 Cup seasons. Solomon is a team oriented man and has a physical profile that will give us another dimension to our attack.

Defensively, Solomon is strong in the air and works hard in the backfield to turn defensive scenarios into attacking opportunities. We have secured the services of a hardworking fullback/wing/centre.”

Solomon Alaimalo will link up with Waikato for the 2019 Mitre 10 Cup at the conclusion of the Gallagher Chiefs Super Rugby campaign.
