Waikato Club Rugby Preview 23-25 June 2022

Waikato Draught Premiership A Week 9 Draw Kickoff A’s 2:45pm, B’s 1:00pm

Its the final regular season round of the Waikato Draught Premeirship and Fraser Tech are one win away from securing the Has Catley Trophy for topping the standings at the end of the regular season. They were successful last weekend in retaining the Stag Trophy for the remainder of 2022 so now the focus will be the Has Catley Trophy followed by securing the Waikato Breweries Shield for a second consecutive season.

However they will need to beat UMS at home at Bedford Park, otherwise Hamilton Marist have a chance of swooping in and claiming the top spot in the standings if they are successful over visitors Hautapu. A slip up by both could see the Ron Crawford Memorial Trophy, Hamilton Old Boys, sneak into the top spot and hold onto the trophy but they will need to get past Otorohanga as well.

The top 3 currently have booked their spots in the playoffs but for the final 3 spots there are currently 4 teams vying for their chance to make the Premiership finals.
