2020 Waikato Mitre 10 Cup season draw announcement.

Today New Zealand Rugby announced the 2020 Mitre 10 Cup schedule for all teams, with the competition to commence Thursday 6th August.

Waikato open their season with back to back home games at FMG Stadium Waikato, starting with Wellington on Friday 7th August at the early time of 7.05pm. Next up will be fellow Premiership side North Harbour (Saturday 15th August) where the Les Pearce Cup will be competed for.

After the two home games, Waikato are on the road for the next two weeks as they face reigning Premiership Champions Tasman in Nelson (Saturday 22nd August) before a trip to the deep south to take on Championship side Southland (Saturday 29th August).

The remaining six weeks of the competition Waikato alternate between home and away fixtures, starting off with a return to FMG Stadium Waikato to face Counites Manukau (Friday 4th September). Then the team again travels to the South Island for a potential Ranfurly Shield Challenge against current holders Canterbury in Christchurch (Sunday 13th September).

The Ryan Wheeler Memorial trophy will be on the line when Taranaki comes to Hamilton (Saturday 19th September) then it is a trip over the Bombay’s to face Auckland for the Stan Thomas Memorial trophy at Eden Park (Friday 25th September).

The final home game Waikato host newly promoted Premiership side Bay of Plenty (Sunday 4th October) before the final regular season game has the team traveling to the far North to take on Northland (Saturday 10th October)
