2024 Waitomo Group: Waikato season draw announcement for the Farah Palmer Cup presented by Bunnings Warehouse.
Today New Zealand Rugby announced the schedule for the upcoming 2024 Farah Palmer Cup (FPC) presented by Bunnings Warehouse. A consistent spread of double headers features throughout the 2024 Farah Palmer Cup.
Waitomo Group: Waikato’s Farah Palmer Cup campaign will kicks off with a double header here at FMG Stadium Waikato where our teams side will host Bay of Plenty in both the FPC and the NPC domestic competitions.
Week two we travel south to take 2023 beaten finalist Canterbury at Rugby Park in Christchurch before a week off awaits in week three with a BYE.
Week four and five see back to back home games for 2024 before we finish the season with two away fixtures. 2023 champions Auckland travel down state highway one for week four action – our second double header of the season to kick off an afternoon of Waikato v Auckland provincial rugby action. Our final home match will be against Hawkes Bay – the venue for that fixture is still to be finalised but will take place in Hamilton.
Our final two regular season matches are on the road, first up to Counties in week six before the long bus trip up to the winterless north where a strong Northland side will await. Both fixtures v Counties and Northland see our Waitomo Group: Waikato side kick off days of double header rugby in Counties & Northland respectively before the home sides NPC teams kick off.
The Farah Palmer Cup (FPC) presented by Bunnings Warehouse Premiership semi-finals will commence the final weekend of September with the final in the first weekend of October.
