
Hamilton will host the Black Ferns for the first time since 2013 for final O’Reilly Cup Test at FMG Stadium Waikato in Hamilton on Saturday 30 September as part of a double header following our Waikato v Canterbury Bunnings NPC game.
The Test match will kick off at 4.35pm, following the Waikato Bunnings National Provincial Championship match against Canterbury at 2.05pm.
Waikato Rugby are excited to host this exciting game between two very proud rugby nations in what will be a first having a Test Match follow a domestic competition fixture.
The final O’Reilly Cup Test was fittingly announced today, alongside the 30 strong Black Ferns squad at Hamilton Girls’ High School, the former High School of Black Ferns Co-Captain Kennedy Simon, rookie Tenika Willison and Kelsey Teneti who returns to the fifteens format following a successful season with the Black Ferns Sevens.
Naming of the Black Ferns squad was also announced this morning for their upcoming Pacific Four Series which features a strong representation of Waikato players throughout the squad. The side will be co-captained by Waikato Captain Kennedy Simon which new comer to the Black Ferns is Waikato tighthead prop Esther Faiaoga-Tilo and outside back Tenika Willison. They will be joined by fellow Waikato team mates Renee Holmes, Kelsey Teneti and Tanya Kalounivale.
Tickets will go on sale next week by purchasing a Waikato NPC Ticket Packages. Individual tickets for Black Ferns v Australia will go on sale at a later date.
