Waikato Draught Breweries Shield Quarter Finals Kickoff 2.45pm

The regular season has come to an end and Fraser Tech will hold onto the Stag trophy for the summer after successfully defending it at home in 2022. They also topped the standings with 39 points and received the Has Catley trophy, on top of home field advantage throughout the playoffs and a bye week for this accomplishment. Tech will host the lowest placed winner next weekend.  

Hamilton Old Boys finished the regular season second and were awarded with a bye week as well. They successfully defended the Ron Crawford Memorial trophy last weekend and will be able to engrave their name into the trophy for 2022. HOB will host the highest placed winner next weekend. 

This weekend Hamilton Marst (3) will play host to University (6) in a rematch of a 29 all draw that occurred back in week 3 but this time Hamilton Marist will play hosts at Marist Park. Rest assured there will be a winner in this match.

 In the second game, Hautapu (4) will face Te Awamutu Sports (5) at home after suffering a narrow 22-17 defeat to the same team in week 2 but that game was away in Te Awamutu.

Rowe Cup Quarter Final Kickoff 1.00pm

Number 1 seed, Melville, completed the season so far undefeated winning 9 from 9 matches and have secured a bye week and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Melville will host the lowest placed winner next weekend. 

Meanwhile reigning Rowe Cup champions, Otorohanga, finished in 2nd place and will also have a bye week and a home semi-final next week. Otorohanga will host the highest placed winner next weekend.   

Fraser Tech ended the regular season in third place and will play host to Hamilton Old Boys at Waikato Steel Fabricators Park on Saturday afternoon. Earlier this season both sides faced off in week 6 with Fraser Tech scoring after 80 mins to snatch a late 20-25 victory. 

Also playing for a spot in the semi-finals are fourth place, Hamilton Marist, and fifth place, University. The men from Varsity secured a single point victory back in week 3 winning that encounter 20-19 at University. This weekend Hamilton Marist will have the home field advantage and will be looking to turn the tables this time.

Lone Star Rototuna Cup Kickoff 2.45pm

After missing out on the Top 6 for the Waikato Breweries Shield, four teams will fight it out for the Lone Star Rototuna Cup semi-finals. After this weekend the two winning teams will face off at the highest winning teams home, the two losing sides will then face off the following weekend. The loser of that match will go on to battle Southern United in a promotion/relegation match for a spot in the Waikato Draught Premiership in 2023.

Mooloo Shield Round 2 Week 2 Kickoff 2.45pm

After week 1 of round 2, Pirongia, are on top of the standings and will host round 1 and week 1 winners, Southern United, at Pirongia Domain in a top of the table battle. Southern United were the victors back in week 1 of round 1 winning their first encounter 32-14 in Tokoroa. Since then the Mountain Men have gone on to win 8 of 9 matches to help them to third in the standings at the end of round 1. However they do face tough opposition from Southern United who have only lost the single game in 2022.

 

Ohaupo return from their bye week and travel north to face Taupiri at Murphy Lane. Taupiri will be desperate for a win at home to make sure they can keep pace with the top 2 for a chance to be in the final in a few weeks.

Morrinsville Sports top the standings of the Under 85kgs division closely followed by Melvile only 2 points behind. Both teams have a decent buffer over 3rd place Hamilton Marist and 4th Fraser Tech

Colts Elliot Shield Round 2 Week 1 Kickoff 1.00pm 

Round 1 is complete in the Colts division with Hamilton Marsit completing the round undefeated to win the Tom Lithgow Memorial trophy. Marist are joined by the remaining top 5 teams that include United Matamata Sports (2), Hautapu (3), Hamilton Old Boys (4) and United Matamata Sports (5), with these 5 teams competing in a further 5 weeks of competition for the right to play in the playoffs for the Elliot Shield.

HOB Guzzlers still remain the team to beat in this division and are undefeated sitting at the top of the standings with 19 points. They are closely followed by Hamilton Marist on 16 points and Kereone on 15 points. Then
