Jack Lam returns to Waikato for the 2021 Bunnings Warehouse NPC Season.


Waikato has added more experience to their loose forward trio with the announcement of Samoan International, Jack Lam, who has signed with Waikato for the upcoming NPC season.

Lam, 33, returns to Waikato for the first time since his last match back in 2013 against Auckland. Lam first debuted for Waikato back in 2009 in a preseason fixture against Taranaki before his first Waikato cap was earned when he was named at openside flanker against Southland, he became Waikato player #1079.  Lam then went on to make 36 appearances for the province scoring 10 points by the way of two tries, before departing New Zealand to take up a contract at Bristol.

Waikato Head Coach, Ross Filipo said “It is great to a have a player of Lam’s experience join our team this season, he has great character and a hardworking leader which are qualities that we look for in players.

His ability to play multiple positions in the loose forwards will be crucial this season to help strengthen our 2021 squad.”

Jack Lam, links back up with Waikato and has a chance to add to his 36 caps. He has made 53 appearances for the Hurricanes in Super Rugby between 2011-2014 and is a current squad member for the Samoan International side and recently helped them gain qualification to the 2023 Rugby World Cup, he has to date made 35 international appearances.
