Waikato Seven's Results from Queenstown Tournament

Waikato went through the pool play unbeaten on Saturday, but unfortunately lost to pre-tournament favourites Bay Of Plenty in a tight game, losing 12 -19. Waikato then went onto beat Hawkes Bay in the plate semi-final but run out of puff in the 20 minute Plate Final losing to North Harbour .

Waikato had five players named in the Tournament team after the weekend's seven's tournament in Queenstown.
Frank Halai , Declan O'Donnell , Jono Malo , Jordan Smiler & Rory Grice who played in the weekend.
Tim Mikkelson was rested by New Zealand.
Jono Malo was announced as Waikato's players player of the Tournament .
