18th July 2011 03:18PM
The Waikato Rugby Union together with Montana Catering is pleased to announce a partnership to reduce food and beverage prices for ITM Cup games at Waikato Stadium this season.
All food and beverages will be discounted by 10% which the Waikato Rugby Union will absorb through eliminating commission from food and beverage sales, in order to provide a more affordable experience for Waikato rugby fans. Montana Catering have also reduced prices on beer and other food items
Waikato Rugby Union CEO Graham Bowen said "although financially it is a hit for the Rugby Union, the bottom line is that we need our community at the game, supporting our team. People have listed food and beverage prices as a key obstacle for coming to the games, so we are doing everything we can".
Montana Catering have also been working hard to help provide inexpensive food and beverages, with the introduction of Waikato Draught in cans at $5.00 per can, and a hot dog on a stick heavily discounted to just $2.
Managing Director of Montana Peter Stark commented "We have been very conscious that Stadia food and beverage prices have been creeping up for some time now. This is not just at Waikato Stadium; it is the same for all Stadiums in NZ, and in fact worldwide. We are delighted to have the opportunity to partner with the WRU and Waikato Stadium in doing our bit to make coming to rugby easier on the wallet for everyone".
The reduction in food and beverage prices means that ITM Cup rugby is more family friendly than ever before. With season memberships (for the five home games) starting at $50.00 for adults ($10 per game) in the Greenzone, and children from just $23.00 ($4.60 per game) throughout the Stadium, rugby is now an affordable entertainment option for families.
The food and beverage price cuts are exclusive to the ITM Cup 2011 season at Waikato Stadium meaning supporting the Red, Yellow and Black of the Mighty Mooloo's has never been more affordable. Prices are effective as of the first home game against Taranaki on 21st of July, 7.35 pm kickoff.
