It is with great pride that we last night named the 2011 Waikato ITM Cup squad. Stormy, Greg and I had some tough decisions to make in whittling down our pre-season squad to just 32 players, however we feel we have found just the right mix of experience and youth in which to go all the way this season.
We are getting down to the business end of our pre-season campaign, with Wednesday afternoon's clash with Taranaki being our last hit-out as a team before Round 1 of the ITM Cup, against Southland in Invercargill on Friday 15 July. For us the quick turnaround between last Saturday night's pre-season game against Auckland and this Wednesday's game will be a true test of how this season will go, with limited rest between games meaning that rehab and recovery is vital to our success.
