1986 - The last game of the season with both teams in Second Division and victory for either would see promotion to First Division. 79 minutes had gone and North Harbour were leading 12-7, but a Waikato try and conversion from the sideline by Darryl Halligan brought the score to 13-12 and the ultimate climax to a season.
2007 - Waikato defeated North Harbour 52-7 in a Ranfurly Shield challenge. This is by far the biggest Ranfurly Shield victory, by a challenger, of all time. Sadly the tenure was also a record - in brevity - of just one week.
