Junior Player Registration Cards

3rd September 2009 08:51AM

I am pleased to announce a new initiative from the Waikato Rugby Union which will enable every registered junior rugby player from our province free entry* to the remaining Waikato Air New Zealand Cup round robin games at Waikato Stadium this season.

Following on from the great success of the Junior March Past at the recent Waikato v Manawatu game, our Union wanted to carry on the feel good factor for our province's rugby kids and let them enjoy more Mooloo rugby on our home turf. Our Waikato rugby players enjoyed seeing the Mooloo players of the future out ringing bells and enjoying themselves at their home of Waikato Stadium.

It would be fantastic if we could create the same atmosphere for our Waikato team each time they run out onto the Stadium.

I believe that the Waikato Rugby Union is the first province to provide this opportunity to the future rugby stars of our national game. Our junior players are our future and they need to be recognised as such.

Every registered junior player has been issued with a Registration Card. This can be redeemed for free entry to any remaining 2009 home Waikato Air New Zealand Cup round robin games at Waikato Stadium, *with a paying adult. (There is a maximum ratio of two free child entries to one paying adult). You must present your Registration Card at any Ticketek outlet or at Gate One ticket booth on game week to receive tickets to the game. (The card on its own does not give you entry access to Waikato Stadium.)

The ticket paid for by the adult will determine where the junior player's ticket will allocated. For example if an adult purchases a seat in Red Reserve, the registered child receives a Red Reserve ticket.

Registration Cards for junior players are available to be picked up from WRU offices located on the corner of Abbotsford and Tristram Sts on Friday 4th September from 9.00am to 4.30pm or Saturday 5th September, Gate 1 Ticket Booth, Waikato Stadium from 1.00pm to 7.00pm.

Due to the construction of the temporary stand at Waikato Stadium, access to the WRU offices is limited and you must park on Willoughby St and then walk to the offices. Sorry for this inconvenience.

If your junior club is having a prizegiving between now and Saturday night, let me know and I will make sure all cards for your club can be available to distribute at your end of season event.

The Registration Cards are valid now, so you can use it for this Saturday night's Waikato v Hawke's Bay game at Waikato Stadium. Kick off is 7.35pm.
