Hamilton Boys' High School 1st XV have again won the Sanix World Rugby Youth Invitational Tournament, with a win over one of England's top rugby schools in yesterday's final in Japan.
HBHS won the match in Fukuoka against Ivybridge Community College 35-17, scoring five converted tries, and with the aid of a handy breeze, got out to a 21-3 lead at halftime.
Coach Nigel Hotham was delighted with the performance and, from Japan last night, said his players put on a great display to dominate early.
"It was a fabulous day," he said. "We just hit them with everything in the beginning of the game."
Although the second half evened up and the large English side had a strong kicking game, Hotham felt the damage had already been done.
