Gallagher Group Commits to Helping Waikato Rugby

The Waikato Rugby Union is pleased to announce a new Major Sponsor partnership with the Gallagher Group.
The commercial partnership between two iconic Waikato organisations shows a commitment from both parties to ensure the Waikato Rugby Union remains a dominant Provincial Union for all levels of rugby, from juniors through to ITM Cup level.
The Gallagher Group will assist the Union in a number of ways, including organising Business to Business functions aimed at promoting Waikato Rugby by outlining the benefits rugby provides to the Waikato Region and its supporting businesses.
Announcing the new partnership Gallagher Group Corporate Services Executive Margaret Comer said "The Gallagher Group is pleased to have secured a major sponsorship position with the Waikato Rugby Union. It is certainly no secret that the Union has hit ‘troubled waters' recently and while it is always easier to be critical of an organisation facing difficult times, Gallagher has decided to take a positive approach by becoming part of the solution."
"Together, these Waikato businesses have invested 165 years in the Waikato region and this partnership is a strategic collaboration of two iconic brands. Gallagher has always invested in partnerships which present an opportunity for future development in the region across a wide variety of activities - from sport and leisure to the arts or community events - and we will continue to do so."
A celebration of the partnership will be held on June 22nd at Gallagher Group with an evening of entertainment and a dinner hosted by MC Matthew Cooper and attended by a number of legendary Mooloo's. ‘Crouch Touch Pause Engage' will be an opportunity for other local businesses to extend their support to the Union and rugby in the Waikato.
The Waikato Rugby Union is pleased the Gallagher Group can see the benefits of such a sponsorship arrangement, and looks forward to working closely with them over the next five years.
Waikato Rugby Union CEO Graham Bowen commented "The sponsorship provided by the Gallagher Group is a critical step to ensuring that the Waikato Rugby Union continues its progression to becoming strong both on and off the field."
The support from the Gallagher Group is a major boost for the Waikato Rugby Union, and will help to push a series of new rugby sponsorship packages to the Waikato business community. Marketing Manager Paul Shattock said "the Waikato Rugby Union will be launching a series of packages for individuals and businesses this year that will provide exclusive benefits for those participating. These packages include a ten year season ticket package for two (inclusive of all rugby at Waikato Stadium and a guarantee of an All Blacks match every year), being hosted by past players at Waikato Stadium for a unique insight into Waikato Rugby, and a three year ticket deal for small/medium sized businesses to network with other like-minded individuals in the best seats in the house".
