Back for his third season with Waikato, Romana is a towering lock at 2.02m. His height is an obvious asset at line-out time for the Mooloos. He has represented Waikato at Under 19s level.
Romana first played for Waikato in 2008 against Otago, and played for the New Zealand Maoris in 2010.
