Half back Malcolm Barnes returns to the Waikato squad in 2011 as a train on player. After being forced to sit out 2009 with a knee injury, Barnesy was called into the squad in 2010 to cover injuries to Brendon Leonard and Tawera Kerr-Barlow. After several impressive performances Barnesy was selected for the 2011 Chiefs Wider Training Group. An accountant by trade Malcolm will be looking to get more game-time this season to cement his spot in a 20112 Super Rugby squad.
