Official Charity - Pass It On Foundation
The Pass It On Foundation is the official charity of the Chiefs and the Waikato Rugby Union. Established in January 2009, iIts purpose is to raise and provide funds to help advance healthy sporting communities within the Chiefs region. The Pass It On Foundation is unique in that it is the first charity established by a New Zealand provincial union or franchise.
Pass It On strives to:
- Support the participation of youth in all sports;
- Foster and assist with the retention of players, coaches, administrators and referees in sporting activities; and
- Contribute to coaching and training courses to help raise the standards of volunteers involved in sporting activities within the community.
Pass It On Foundation can benefit any school, any sports team or any community group. Funding will also be provided to schools and clubs for the improvement of facilities and to purchase sports gear and equipment
Funds will be allocated twice yearly with the first allocation taking place in June 2009.

The Board:
There are six trustees on the board of Pass It On who comprise the Chiefs and Waikato Rugby Union Boards of Directors (two), members of both the Chiefs and Waikato teams (players and management) (two) and administration staff of both teams (two).
